Stop laughing, this is Islam

I know there are a number of Muslim comedians both in Australia and around the world. Good luck to them because if ever a religion needed to poke a bit of fun at itself, Islam is it.

Any Muslim humorist has his or her work cut out. At a scriptural level there are numerous forbidding entries regarding laughter in the Koran and associated texts.

The Hadith says, “Do not laugh too much, for laughing too much deadens the heart.”

Potentially this means any Muslim who uses the laugh out loud acronym is looking at an apostasy charge and in grimmer corners of Islam like Saudi Arabia this has probably already happened.

The Hadith also puts the brakes on satire, too. “Woe to the one who speaks and tells lies in order to make the people laugh; woe to him, woe to him.”

Iran’s mullah, the Shi’ite cleric Ayatollah Khomeini said Islam was a joke free religion. There was not a laugh to be had according to Khomeini. One look at that grizzled visage and you just knew he hadn’t cracked it for a giggle in a very long time, if at all.

Goodness me, Mr Insider, we learn that POTUS Trump has cost the US Taxpayer $13 million in just one month being his Travel costs! That was the amount for the Obama’s travel in one full year! May I suggest to Donald he makes his weekend trips from Washington to Florida in a Cessna 172 to shave some $$$$$$$’s off this ghastly amount!

“Just a reminder that human beings are all pretty much the same.”

We also need to remind ourselves John, that we are reportedly 98.7% Chimpanzee. This means that chimps are 98.7% human with only a difference of 1.3% in our DNA.

But don’t tell the knuckle draggers.

Strewth, Mr Insider, we see Hitler’s Phone I mentioned a while ago has now sold at auction for $317,000! I have been searching our big storage shed out back all arvo as am sure I am in possession of at least one saleable Hitler item. Of course it must bear the initials “AH” for authenticity. Anything will do.

“So the people who support your right wing views are ok but those that don’t support your views are not ok. Thank you for again showing us the hypocrisy of this whole deliberately Divisive Islamaphobia drive by sections of the media and right whingers.

    What a load of bollocks.
    1. I am not right wing, a bit to the right of Marx & co yeah, but not right wing at all. You assume too much.

    2. Islamaphobic? Don’t think so. I have 2 Muslims in my very immediate family, young people in their early 20’s and they are the apples of my eye, both. My wife and I are so proud of what wonderful human beings they are despite the many challenges they have had thus far. They could teach young Aussies of a similar age a thing or two about humanity in general.

    3. If I was a tad Islamophobic it would have to be labeled Salafistphobic or, because of an unfortunate incident in Egypt, maybe TraditionalSunniphobic. Believe me, I have been up close and very personal with the ones with the crazy glint in their eyes, and I did not like what I saw. I still don’t like thinking about it too much because although I survived intact, it could have easily gone the other way. Talk about a reality check into one’s fragile grip on life, it was a lucky escape for sure. Over nothing too I might add, depending on the interpretation. Without a couple of older, respected Egyptians who had my back I might not have been around to post this.

As I said at the start, you assume too much.

“So the people who support your right wing views are ok but those that don’t support your views are not ok.”
You often project your own agenda onto questions to other people Dismayed. Makes trying to understand your point of view a little confusing and difficult at times.

Suggest give this Tool a go with any links you post old chap, shortens them up considerably. Hope the Power is still on in SA? Cheers.

Today we see that SA Power networks software problem caused the extra load shedding and they new within minutes but told no one. After watching Akerman on Q&A it is clear what is wrong with you cons. you are just dishonest.

Go read Nick Cater’s excellent article in today’s Aus and you learn something about the energy mess we now have.

One phrase “South Australia, the canary in the wind turbine” says it all. Brilliant!

          • Dismayed says:

Nick Cater? HAHAHAHAHA FFS get off the gear. The energy mess is owned by the coalition due to inaction, ideology, politics and allowing the AEMO to game the system and artificially keep prices higher than needed. Removing the ETS was the worst thing to happen to Gas exploration in this country removing the ETS made coal cheaper. Gas will be the transition fuel. Coal plants will run their life and not be replaced except for if the COALition use taxpayer funds to subsidise them. Industry does not want to invest in them. “Clean coal” is not clean. Carbon sequestration is not ready and it is NOT economically viable it is MORE expensive than other forms. If you think people get upset about fracking wait and see what they think about drilling wells or using existing wells to store carbon that may escape anyway. The whole world is moving to a less carbon intensive energy grid. Those that move first will have the most economic outcomes in the long run. Storage will come online commercially and domestically. Commercial and domestic Hydrogen generation is not far away. There are small local companies working on this with European support. I will happen. Within 20 years 30% of household will have solar and battery units allowing them to be 80% self sufficient or more if they are prepared to invest $15K-$20K. At current prices their investment is returned in a very short time because they can still feed back in once batteries are topped off. Stick to your renewable outrage industry cohort you will need the support to recover from the embarrassment of getting it so wrong. Cater HAHAHHAHA seriously Lou get off the gear. Tell me Lou are you swapping back to horse and cart because chaff is cheaper than petrol??

          • Milton says:

I’ve noticed a lot of canaries getting about of late, Lou. I blame Geoffrey Edelsten’s getup at the Melbourne Cup, circa 2014 (I’ve nothing but nice words for the lovely Gabi, except she talks too much). These renewable’s will work a treat if we can only manage to renew the poor canaries and their ilk.

Henry Blofied – which tool were you referring to?

        • JackSprat says:

Keep grasping at straws – or better still start collecting them. You will need them this winter to keep warm.

          • Dismayed says:

JS. Which of the facts I presented are you disputing?? Oh none ,you just wanted to project your own failings again. By the way with temperatures running about 1 and half degrees above average Adelaide is very pleasant in winter. It may even go down to 15 degrees during the day on occasion. Hardly cold. Those of us that have built 6 star energy rated homes hardly have to worry getting cold. Your denial all is all you have. Keep up the doomsday prepping your man trump will unleash hell on us all soon enough.

  • Dismayed says:

JackSprat says: February 20, 2017 at 11:51 am JS. Where am I taking “the high ground”? I have simply pointed out facts . You don’t like them so you have a go at me. The latest Islamaphobia campaign by NewsCorp and the right whingers is deliberatively divisive and designed to take attention away from the baaaaaaaaaaad government ( B’man) we have in this country. No religion is any better than any other they all are designed to control people to judge people to stop people from thinking for themselves. . The latest Islamaphobia campaign plays to the those insular intolerant people I noted above. It is designed to divide.

Question for the commenter communing with us from the afterlife. Who’s running the joint,? I doubt you’d have been allowed into a respectable Christian/Judean paradise.
Just asking, odd thing I thought I just saw Boudicea , sipping coffee, pinkie extended, reading a glossy in an upmarket Salamanca caff!

    • Boadicea says:

They only let the strongest and the bravest in Mr JB. You know, selection of the fittest…..

      • Dismayed says:

Ah the breeding thing again hey?

      • Jean Baptiste says:

Are you talking about the café or Valhalla? Didn’t think they sat around on clouds in Valhalla, and Pagans usually don’t make the cut in heaven.
As I cycled past Jackman and McRoss this morning, I declare my eyes must be deceiving me, for I’d a sworn on a pallet of bibles I seen Boudacea chomping on a chocolate and almond croissant, in a deep and meaningful exchange with Dr Bob Brown, al fresco footpathio.

Speaking of the afterlife, take it awaaaaaay, The Strolling Bones!

        • Boadicea says:

Wonderful selection Mr JB.How did you know Mr Jagger is my most favourite man. To die for actually.
He can put his slippers under my cloud any time he likes 🙂

          • Jean Baptiste says:

Process of elimination Boudicea! I reckon you’d go for a younger man with lots of money.

          • Boadicea says:

Unfortunately Mick doesn’t fit the younger man category – which I have to say is my preferred choice. WE warrior maidens don’t waste our time with old farts.
But he is extraordinary – which is a priority – and has lots of money. What more could a girl want?
Definitely God’s or Odin’s gift to every woman’s prayer if you ask me
            Giddyup lads…………………………

          • Jean Baptiste says:

Are you sure? He is only seventyish.

    • Penny. says:

Funny that JB. They never disappear for long…..

  • Milton says:

I must say i’m disappointed at Bill Leak’s latest puerile offering, which is nothing more than a cheap shot at the state of South Australia in a desperate attempt to deliver a chuckle. I won’t hear a bad word about South Australia. South Australia is no laughing matter.

  • Henry Blofeld says:

Sweden, Mr Insider, what happened in Sweden re recent Terrorist acts that POTUS Trump alludes too?

    • Jean Baptiste says:

Kellyanne Conway forsees the future Henry. She just got her dates mixed up. The Swedes should be very very worried.
Actually, maybe we should all be very worried.

      • Henry Blofeld says:

I note Trump is a big fan of morning Cable News Mr Baptiste, goodness any story gets a run at that time of day to boost the ratings, all sorts of ratbags are dragged out for the cameras. Worry we perhaps should.

    • Perentie says:

Nothing. He made it up. And when the press reported what he said he accused them of making up what he said and being the enemy of the people. Business as usual.

    • John O'Hagan says:

A parallel Sweden, from the parallel universe he inhabits?

I wonder if the media will be guilty of faking news if they report it, or of not reporting terrorism if they don’t? Either way, it’s a win for Mr T.
