I’m going to miss Rodney Culleton. He has painted a vision of a libertarian Australia where our laws and indeed our entire legal system can be casually brushed off with a badly spelt submission.
Got a bill you’d rather not pay? That mortgage you’ve taken out bearing down on you? Parking fines piling up? Don’t fret. Fire off a diner’s menu of grievances to the High Court. Easy-peasy.
Welcome to Rodney Culleton’s Australia, a state of societal perfection where paying one’s creditors is voluntary, actions have no consequences and people can, nay must do, whatever they feel like.
Full column here.
Warner copping heaps on Twitter re OLED TV’s. Watching too much Spongebob apparently.
The Backpacker Tax, Mr Insider, can you believe the mess Turnbull and Co have made of this. Meanwhile Plums hang ripe for the picking but no eager hands to do the work.
I missed the pink ball test last year, being in NZ and all. The pink ball really shows up on the idiot box. Looks like we’ll bat tonight. Any butterflies Mr Renshaw? (I bet he’s glad they bowled actually).
A good day’s cricket, TV. Australia bowled well and fielded well. Got Faf’ed late in the day after the Saffers’ skipper made a wonderful rearguard ton and declared nine down. Renshaw handled his nerve pretty well for a 20-year-old on debut.
The pitch will quicken up today but local weather is 22 and cloudy. It was cool overnight hopefully we get some sun to take the freshness out of the pitch. Did anyone see the pitch NZ produced for the test with Pakistan today? Green. Renshaw has a big step into line with the stumps. Not sure how that will go against real quicks and the spin he does not read.
He’s 20. Give him a break. I thought he did a good job under difficult circumstances. He may have a technical flaw here and there or perhaps nerves got the better of him. He looks a good type and his game will develop.
Very trying conditions and he seemed to stay calm. I hope he does succeed. He does seem to have time when addressing the ball. That big step in front of the stumps hopefully was just an exaggeration due to nerves. I hope your boy Maddinson raises his level from a FC average of 37 also. I just really hope we can bat for 3 full sessions. C’mon Aussie.

You must realise by now old Dismal is a glass half empty type of guy…..
Forgot to mention Lyon bowled over the wicket and probably as good as he has bowled in along time. Renshaw gone, geez half the ball on the ground I reckon.
i can remember Matt Hayden starting out and he didn’t look then like he would retire with an average of 50.
No comparison. Hayden went back to the shield for several years. Then came in understanding his game but he never had that big step in front of the stumps. Hayden was always still when he played his shots not on the move except when he walked straight down the pitch at the bowler.Well done Hanscombe another with an unusual technique? but you could drive a truck through the gate he left for Abbott. Who has gone from no.5 bowler to no.1 for Sth. Africa. Lots of questions still unanswered for the Australian 11. A lead is better than trailing.

Agree Lou. Bali has been ruined by Aussie tourists. I have only been once, a few years ago, and would never go back! Kuta is diabolical. After the murder of that policeman recently I think Australian tourists are not very well liked probably. The kid was lucky, very lucky. Couple of possible scenarios there
Couple of good articles from “macro business” highlighting the rent seeking flock.

Dear Dismayed you need “Tiny” to make your links small and here it is buddy http://tinyurl.com/
Thanks Nossy.
We here at the Blofeld Org. pride ourselves for being “up to trend” as it were and we want everyone else to do the same. Given China is taking over lots of Australia maybe its time we all started to learn the lingo so with your indulgence Mr Insider have attached a basic short intro to Chinese, made for the US but we too can do it . Welcome to China we love you! and in Chinese “欢迎中国我们爱你! ” P.S. supporting One Nation is NOT up to trend!

It pains me to see you needlessly getting hot under the collar over the dubious claim that a few of your “blithering bilge brains” may allegedly be responsible for the yet to be established extra odd puff of CO2 that may eventuate around the place resulting in the slim possibility of an ever so slightly warmer environment.
It seems quite apparent JB that you have chosen not to factor in (whether deliberately or otherwise) that the Bedouins and indeed the nomadic Nabataeans, to name a few, comfortably flourish(ed) in a similar environment to which you appear to envisage for the future, and well before Nebuchadnezzar became a household name.
I trust you’re otherwise well me old mate.
Hey Johnno, its on at Adelaide oval. Jackson Bird all over the place, really struggling to support the Haze and Starc. Why would you announce to the world Chad Sayers comes into the squad because of how well he bowls in Adelaide (and the highest wicket taker in Australia for the last 5 years). Then not play him? Bird should have played in Hobart. Sayers should have played in Adelaide and you could even play Cutting or Feldman at the Gabba and be just a strong.
speaking of contrabulous phantasmagorica, how’s this frog in a blender turnout gunna resolve itself?? tis the year of the underdog..

Would I be out of order in wishing for the South Africans to get a severe arse kicking in Adelaide. Packet of mints anyone?
I’m with you Tracy. Unfortunately Faf has prospered and will doubtless see that as a mark of divine providence. A very good day but I hesitate to predict anything but the return of the sun tomorrow morning at the moment.
Sometimes people to get their comeuppance , not Faf unfortunately hope Mr Jones was home http://www.smh.com.au/entertainment/music/crowded-house-review-good-enough-to-raise-the-sick-from-their-harbourside-bed-20161124-gsx43d.html
