Here I was all set to knock out a Christmas column full of cheer and bonhomie but life, or more accurately, Daily Life has intervened.
I normally disapprove of intra-media byplays but Fairfax Media’s Daily Life section has become so full of cranky third wave feminism that someone needs to hold it up to the light. Among this waste of ink and kilobyte street corner psychobabble, comes a contribution from self described feminist Polly Dunning who tells her harrowing tale of giving birth to a shame boy. The good news is she’s slowly getting over it.
I’m not allowed to swear anymore, at least not at volume but this is sorely testing my already fragile grip on self-control.
At first blanch this was merely another addition from women who have recently given birth and have come to believe that having done so, they have unlocked the secrets of the universe. But on further reading this is a tale of a woman not just at war with men but also her own male child.
Full column here.

Dismayed,
No! The issue is not the existence of God etc, as I have already explained. You and I are never going to agree.
The issue is and remains your initial assertion that ‘..taxing Churches and Religious … would solve the Federal Budget problem…’.
You have crab-walked your way from this, using your usual combination of bombast, abuse and sophistry.
Even in your latest comment you still assert, Churches etc should pay tax to in some way prove their ‘social and charitable’ worth.
So again, how about you illustrate what taxation regime should be enforced and how it will assist the Federal Budget repair.
In the absence of such an illustration, I find it difficult to take anything you say, on your chosen aspect of the debate (not mine) seriously.
Up until now you just give an admirable example of parroting traditional anti-religious bigotry; without any of the humour or wit of our fellow ‘religious’ JB!!
The only flip flopping around here is you. You are like a fish out of water trying to defend the indefensible. There is No humour in the promotion of group think fantasy which amasses huge fortunes at the expense of the rest of society under the guise of “charity”. Then wants to sit in judgement of that same society. Your inability to comprehend the written word or deliberate misrepresentation of it again proves the cloak is to conceal and deceive. We have had this review several times and each time you do the same thing and refuse to accept that your brand of racketeering should actually be held accountable like all others. What makes it even worse is the cloak you hide behind to present a holier than thou position. You continue to highlight all that is wrong with your profession and yes it is a profession, we have had thousands of years of the same corrupt activity from the same mob companies. Take your false rhetoric and even falser argument of not wanting to contribute other than to sit in judgement, collect tithes and amass great wealth without paying tax elsewhere. It is charlatans like you and your cults that keep me Dismayed.
The first step would be to allow a review of the holdings and income generated by your “not for profit” yeah right, cults then simply apply the same rates as everyone else. Why is there so much secrecy and effort to stop review of the value of holdings? you have spend several days here trying to defend the indefensible. What are you trying hide form view?? Stopping the direct funding would go along way also. There is ample evidence (which I am not going to present Again) to show that the amount recoupe would be large and as I said would go a long way to balancing the budget leaving No budget issue. No more twisting of my comments to suit your perverse defence.
Still waiting for you to address my 21points Bald instead of picking out 2 and failing miserably.

Your assumption that research consists of “googling up opinions” may well apply to yourself but whether it occurs to you or not others of us do most of our confirmation research via the library. I never take a position without first listening to all sides and learning the science/physics of whether a thing is physically possible.
It takes a great deal of time.
The internet is a marvellous way of interacting with very learned people around the world, on many many sites where you with your extraordinarily simplistic world view would be regarded with wry amusement.
You give the impression that you are dependent on the sedative effects of alcohol to maintain your equilibrium , that’s fine, whatever gets you through the day, but you’re not in a good place for cerebral elasticity.
Always bear in mind, “logic defers to established belief” and trust me the brain hurts when you try beat that one.
But if you learn to cope with dissonance, there’s an actual life out here and it is very exciting.
Yvonne 1:04PM 10.
The Marxist/commo thing is my shtick* Yvonne, but you knew that. I find it amusing to wind up the simple minded open mouthed “regulation” children.
I have always advocated socialism as the best option for most desperately poor nations and I do rail against the insanity of unrestrained capitalism and stupid selfish conspicuous consumption.
* One of them,
Give ’em heaps.
The only simple minded people on this blog is you Baptiste and you give us the evidence daily gurly man.
Kathy 01:05pm.
Just completed some reading on polly rorting finding Tony Burke tops the clowns having a big whinge when caught out on the list of 20 when Bronny got caught .
Since 2008 , Burke on his rorts clocked up 4.6 million dollars ,2.2 million airfares on top of other widespread rorting of 2.4 million.Lets face it ,the system allows this rorting like his long extended expensive resorts overseas .His regular office furnishings , expensive paintings , all in this abuse .
I also condemn Susan Ley like the rest of them , no argument there . Both side equal to blame when comes to balance all this up. This Burke is like the rest claiming “official government business ” we don’t except this comes to 1000$dollar resorts a night.
Totally incorrect. He did not RORT $4.6million. You got this straight from The Daily Telegraph. Voted the most untrustworthy news source poll after poll.
PS: For what it’s worth, I think he will sack her. Not because she’s been naughty, but in an attempt to save his own skin. Coming hot on the heels of the pensioner cuts it’s not a very optimistic outlook for the longevity of his government.
I think someone here voiced an opinion that the younger set will outweigh disgruntled pensioners at the ballot box, because they resent their taxes going to pensions – that may change when they have their parents move in with them!!
I don’t think she should be sacked. Others have done much much worse. Abbott used Slipper to try and bring down a government! She is not a serial rorter like Abbott, Bishop(s), Joyce, Soapy Brandis and others.
Hmmm, The Mercury informs us this morning that Sussan cost us $9,363 to charter a flight on a rare visit to Tassie. Shades of Bronnie starting to emerge. One can usually get a Jetstar or Tiger flight for under $100.
Aw heck, they’re all at it. This is just the tip of a very big iceberg.
Jean Baptiste – here’s some research I’ve just started reading:
http://manhattancontrarian.com/blog/2016/12/22/how-to-tell-whos-lying-to-you-climate-science-edition
and this one suggests those bastards at NASA are still faking it”
http://manhattancontrarian.com/blog?tag=Greatest+Scientific+Fraud
You may like to add them to your research reading list.
“Manhattan Contrarian”?! Milton, please, the guy is nuts. Are you seriously buying into this theory that almost every last scientist on the planet, across governments, ideologies, funding models etc is in on this conspiracy or has somehow been duped? All of them? By whom? How? Why? Really? Please, instead of seeking out confirmation in murky corners of the internet, just read some randomly-selected scientists on the topic, it’ll do you good.
Good interactive here about Members Expenses broken down for every Member and category; Family Travel, Comcar, Domestic Air, CharterFlights etc, for Jan-Jun 2016. Skip the article and the interactive is halfway down the page.

I’m presuming this blog is coming to an end soon, but it has provided a wealth of entertainment value. From Bassman and Rodent, to Carl on the Coast and JB’s sparring and sparkling repartee. I have to say long live the differences of opinion. I also like Dismayed’s posts despite the comment he made about Peptides and pimples. Someone called me Mother Penny, indicating that I’m without humor and wield a big stick I guess……neither of which is true.
May 2017 bring on more entertainment on this very fine blog.
Hmm yes…but we have strayed a loooooon long way away from Mothe and Child Disunion. We are fortunate Jack has such patience and allows us such latitude/diversity of opinion Bald.
Carl on the Coast 5:00PM
Once again, at least provide some meaningful challenge instead of just sticking your fingers in your ears and chirping
“Nah nah nah not happening, I cant hear anything.” Perhaps a link to the sophistry of a boggle eyed inbred twat paid climate denier? Just for variety.
Here is something more up to date. I am always delighted to comply with your requests old mate.

I do understand that scientists with real knowledge would appear very strange indeed to you. It’s a cultural thing.
Thanks for coming.
I am still waiting for The Toaster to challenge the 21 points I made…he cherry-picked ONE out of 21 and even stuffed that up.
