It might have made for an amusing office sweep. Three politicians clinging perilously to power. One wondered who would be the first to drop off the branch and by early this morning we had the answer.
If you had South African President Jacob Zuma in the sweep, you’d be a winner today. Zuma’s own political party, the African National Congress, had pledged to vote for a motion of no confidence in him. There was no way out and at several minutes to midnight in political terms (around 10.00pm South African time) and with no alternatives left, Zuma walked away.
Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, grimly hangs on to his job despite Israeli Police recommending his indictment on fraud and bribery charges while our very own Deputy Prime Minister, Barnaby Joyce, stands defiant in the face of a scandal that would see any normal person wander off into the sunset.

Oh no, the Lib Nats look like two married people who hate each other, but have to stay in it for the money.
“INEPT” he roars.
Dude, nobody looks more inept than you in your giant hat right now. Go home and shut up.
The Turncoat/ Beetroot relationship is a cot case now but how’s their style? It’s like two pathetic clowns who both know they’re stuffing-up but can’t remember how to play the game.
They’re both in it for the money, it’s all that drives politicians.
This was always going to happen.
Through virtue signalling to the world we are going to lose jobs and damage the environment by Adani using dirty coal and mining it with less environmental controls. What are we doing here?

Can’t get it Razor. It’s behind the CM wall

Sweet Mother of Jesus, Mr Insider, Barnaby is going to cling to power at all costs even if he destroys PM Turnbull as we read: ” Barnaby Joyce lashes out at Malcolm Turnbull’s comments about his affair, says they were ‘inept’ and ‘unnecessary”. The big hatted beetroot seems quite miffed his bonking has caused so much of a stir. Meanwhile the hard working Taxpayers of Australia keep paying these wastrels wages. Stand by Bill Shorten as Government and the PMship coming your way!

An apology for you old dear, I think Im on to what you were upset about. You see, you often say you ‘identify’ with the female psyche, but its a nonsense petal. (and I mean that with all kindness) Real women, the ones that reproduce and leak and bleed, are tougher than you would ever know, and saying something like “menstrual hue” would not offend them at all. The classic example of the ‘hue’ was a secretary I had years ago, every time it was ‘her time of the month’, she would go a reddish pink and sweat. The poor thing was in major agony. Cramps and aches and sweats. I would take one look at her and say “go home”. That my love, is a menstrual hue.
Other than that, Barnaby is a complete dog.
cheers and genuine kind regards

This blog has never been a “broadchurch” you could only have heard that line at your Liberal party whinge fests. The blog has always been likened to a front bar.
Penny says: FEBRUARY 8, 2018 AT 9:09 PM
Carl, JTI has said before that this blog caters to a broad church, move on and don’t read posts from people you don’t like….
Well. make up your minds, guys.
Let’s go for the ”broadchurch” – just move on and don’t read posts from those you don’t like!!
I try not to Boa, trust me. But why is it important to you what this blog is, broad church or front bar?? Move on….
Hear, Hear Dr Penny Hear, Hear. Having been here since inception the term from bar comes from the good man himself, JTI has always likened this blog to front bar.
Very pedantic Penny. You’re better than that. At least she has her own opinions and isn’t fed by an email everyday. Dismal a.k.a COHD does. If any longtime bloggers hadn’t picked that years ago then you have a problem.
Never picked it, sorry, but does it matter??
Boady, you do seem a bit paranoid. Unless I’m missing something, you are not up against an organised hostile faction here.
The collective “guys” suggests you see some sort of conspiracy. It’s just individuals who don’t always share the same opinion.
Not really,JB.
There are lots of interesting, informative opinions here. And nice people.
I am perhaps a bit naive in thinking that it’s not necessary to verbal those who voice their differing opinion?
I’m not paranoid – I’m just not that tough Xx
Geez Yvonne you went searching back a week to prove to us all you have a comprehension deficit? Keep your friends close an you enemies even closer. Just like the coalition. No surprises.
Joyce certainly hasn’t explained himself in regard to his expenses, I believe the amount he gets per night as deputy pm is more than those on Newstart have to live on for a week, except those people are regarded as bludgers.
Mr Canavan needs to explain why only one candidate was considered for the position in his office even if that explanation is rather embarrassing.
Meanwhile Lamb’s dual nationality is off the radar and nothing else is getting done, bit like the last half of 2017, how much do we pay these people?
Per Fortnight Tracy and this is only those that get the full whack. Which is less than 10% of all newstart “clients” as they are called. If like my relative who in his mid 50’s was retrenched and his wife still works 20 hrs a week you get about $200 per fortnight. Barnaby is a scumbag like most cons.
Oh good grief, guess your meant to starve. No doubt he’s paid his fair share of tax over the years too.
He was in the same workplace for over 35 years. Not a high paying job but honest graft that enabled him to raise a family, go the footy etc. He has been dehumanised and feels blamed and shamed by the policies of the coalition and every time Tudge, Tehan and Hillsong Morrison (previously) come out and blame the unemployed for being bludgers and leaners on society. The poor bloke has done everything possible to try and get a job. No one wants to hire a semi-skilled mid 50’s year old and the coalition just make it harder and harder and shame them more. No surprises.
This is happening all over Australia Tracy and Dismayed. I know of several people (late 50s) who are going for 3 or 4 interviews a week…nothing, zilch, nada. How are you supposed to survive! My husband and I are fortunate, but just the same we’ll never qualify for a pension and that’s fine. But the new changes to superannuation are going to hurt us and we can’t keep doing what we are doing for much longer as new restructures in our University will cut down on our hours…oh well, there are a million people much worse off. It’s our wedding anniversary today so cheers 🙂
Happy Anniversary!
We are hoping we can keep going for a few more years, currently working at UTS on tools for their online study.
They aren’t filling vacancies when someone leaves so no redundancies so far, hopefully. Contract comes up in April
Good luck with that Tracy. Online study is moving forwards in leaps and bounds so with a bit of luck you will needed for quite some time. Our University is constantly upgrading the online tools we need, but just forgetting to tell us how to use them
Yes, Malcolm Turnbull delivered a nonsensical sexual relations edict at the close of polity business yesterday. It included a preamble referring to the soon-to-be-parents of a new-born child.
Turnbull’s puritanical preaching about a “shocking error of judgement setting off an appalling world of woe for us all” gave no thought for the little nipper who will soon pop into this world and no doubt have to carry the tag of shame proclaimed by our nation’s 29th Prime Minister for many years to come.
It’s not Barnaby Joyce and his partner who have “broken the nation’s heart” on this occasion, but an egotistical Prime Minister who, with his deliberately chosen words, may well have broken the heart of an innocent young child.
cotc. get the nice nurse to wheel you back inside.
COTC has a nice nurse? Ah bugger, theres no justice.
Maybe. The “little nipper” who may not be that little, could have the chutzpah genes of Barnaby and not only not give a stuff what the nation thinks but quietly or exuberantly revel in it. The “current affairs” programmers better get an option on that one from the get go.
Had to bring this across. With all the blackouts the people of QLD need enlightenment. QLD burning Kero to keep the lights on again.”it also called on the Mt Stuart peaking plant that burns kerosene, or jet-fuel. In Queensland this week – the state with the biggest coal fleet that was forced to turn to plants powered by jet fuel, and imports from NSW to ensure the lights stayed on in the middle of their heatwave. No Surprises.
I see news has caught up on barnaby’s land deals that became a lot more valuable due to his pushing of policies and water triggers as Minister. Barnaby Obeid? As before this is before you even look at all the blatant pork barrelling. the auditor general says over $4 billion has been wasted on water infrastructure mostly for projects that had been awarded before they had been reviewed or any sort of analysis had been done.. This country needs an federal ICAC now.
I say Mr Insider, speaking of Barnaby Joyce we note PM Turnbull in a moment of exasperation has brought in a “No MPs Bonking Staffers” law to be “rigidly” enforced. Now will this see the recruitment of a new “Bonking Police” (BP”s) and if so how will they go about their duties detecting bonking?
That rule will just spice up the interdepartmental bonking. The forbidden fruit as it were. Oh, to be a public servant in this golden age. It surely must be the peak of the curve as far as office perks, or bonks in this case, go.
Yes, the new edict seems a bit stiff for those whose hormones are in good working order HB.
