Another year, another polly on the ropes over expense claims. Sussan Ley has been on the receiving end of a media pommeling and the collective wisdom is she’s been a naughty minister. She has been dispatched to Coventry and the view is she should settle down and grow accustomed to her new home.
As an observer of various entitlements farragoes over the years, I think Ms Leys’ spending puts her in exalted company, somewhere between Peter Slipper and the guv’nor, Labor’s Mal Colston. Spending $21,000 in a week or so on transport is extraordinary. I didn’t even think it was possible. With those frequent flyer miles, you can forget about the carrot sticks and chardy in the Qantas club. It’s foot-long lobster subs and Moët by the schooner. Hell, they’ll get you your own plane. Maybe even let you fly it.
The Minchin Protocol always sounded like a bad novel and now as it comes to its denouement, it is about as satisfying as an EH Holden Mechanics’ manual or anything knocked out by Clementine Ford.
Full column here.
It is clear the coalition have bigger snouts and stay longer at the trough. They have massively outspent Labor. Oh this is from a Newscorp publication so most here will have to accept it.

This article may assist Mr Snott. The climate has always changed. We will adapt. That’s what we do. Here’s a little something to ponder from Josh.

Nick Kyrgios needs to walk away from the game of tennis. Yet another petulant, obscenity-filled game . he doesn’t like the game and doesn’t want to be given advice by anyone. Hats off to the guy that handed him a hiding.
Go play basketball Nick
Shocking behaviour by Kyrgios Yvonne no sport would welcome him at present with his appalling attitude and behaviour. The thing about Tennis is you have to actually win if you want to progress and he hasn’t the ability to win.
It wasn’t actually a hiding Yvonne. It was a bee’s dick. Kyrgios beat himself.
Yeah true, Triv. But gee, I was glad to see the idiot get beaten. The press conference was plain disgusting.
His attitude reminds me much of a contributor to this blog. It has me quite dismayed.
Projecting your own failings again Razor/Rowy.
A couple of sport-mad Greeks I know disowned him ages ago. For a while he was the numero uno as far as they were concerned, and they are very hard to embarrass.
i’ve never seen a five set hiding and didn’t see this one.
not sure he is much like dismayed, the tennis bloke only seems to try sometimes.
Jack Sprat, Robin-thanks for your help and concern…re my modem problem.
&
After spending days and nights arguing and blistering my fingers prying leads from sockets under distant tables, dodging spiders etc. I have solved it. Yes, no degree in I.T. or anything like that that my ISP technicians brag of. My problem was my Laptop could not find my wi-fi network name in the list that comes up when you switch on. Everybody else’s in the street bar mine I could see clearly-even those with the same ISP as me! But I could not see mine. Resetting the modem, on/off; with and without a splitter; all phones in and out; a $135 service call by a Telstra technician which I will dispute; promoted to ‘Level 2’ of ‘seriousness’….2 weeks of this-all failed.
&
Today, I decided again to have another go-phoned them. Got this young girl on..my ISP technician. We went through the usual trial and error crap for an hour. No cigar. Then something hit me. I asked her what channel their modem worked on. 1/6 and 11 she advised. I asked could we CHANGE THE CHANNEL…she said yes, easy. We did this in 8 seconds. It has been working perfectly on Channel 6 for 12 hours now without a problem. Previously, 2 years without a problem on Ch. 1. Don’t ask me how it decided itself it wanted to try a new channel! I asked her to call her Supervisor to the phone and requested she address a staff meeting of all the technicians to explain how to solve this problem that a gaggle of their experts could not. Searching the net I found this to be a very common issue.
&
SIGH!!!!!!
I would never had picked that.
By the way, if you have slow wi-fi, it often pays to change the channel. Most of them default to the same channel and it can slow things down a bit.

says: “No doubt the universe is unfolding as it should eh Carl? God works in mysterious ways?
Or in straight language , “F**k the starving I’m alright Jack! ” ”
Now that’s an uncultivated comment if ever there was one JB. It’s bordering on the agrarian.
But I guess you’re right, the world is unfolding as you say. It was a so much easier life in the middle ages compared to the present. Only 90% of the folk (and then some) were peasants. And I’m reliably informed that it was not all hard work either. They were allowed to have Holy days off and some families even owned an ox (or perhaps they rented one). But the kids had to work.
We often refer to ‘the good old days’ , but were they JB? Do you think much has really changed for the “starving” folk in this “unfolding universe” of yours me old mate?
I’ll decline from commenting further on the lunar landings. etc because it pains me to see you getting so upset.
Best wishes as always.
cc. Dismayed
The truth is coming out Carl, just as I hoped JB is an old hippy. We are in good company.

Bassman .06:24pm.
Rat for PM Bassman, ah!
If I was running the show on research into rorts , I would be shining my boots up on those doing the rorting right out the door , the bludging hypocrits they are.
How’s that NBN going Jack?
Oops, just realized you did the upside down thing.
It’s on and very fast, Mack.
Run Ookla and let us know your speeds Jack
28 mbps down, mate.
Cool, we are not even on the list yet.
Enjoy, enjoy JTI. It sure makes a difference. I only pay for the 25mbs download and 5 mbs upload. But it sure as hell is faster than the ADSL that the kids have in Macedon. Drives me nuts when I’m there
It’s good to finally have it on. This afternoon I discovered we cannot receive calls from mobiles on the landline. Very strange but it will be fixed. I suspect I will get well acquainted to Telstra’s customer service technicians. Sone are in India, others the Philippines. So far, they’ve been great.
Must say I’ve always had great customer help service – and the ones in the Phillipines or India are usually spot on. I just give them control of my laptop and watch them work away at the problem.
As I said previously I have never had issues with Telstra. They have improved their act no end.
Jack, they should have done yours first, run the cable from the Bat and Ball up the freeway and plugged it into you computer for you, turned it on and brought you a coldie or a cup of tea, they would have got much better PR.
You would have been amazed at how calmly I dealt with the long outage, mate. No yelling, no threats of legal action. I must be getting old.
Xanax?
I mush prefer the informal drug therapies, mate.
i find i have mellowed a lot as well, though the other day i did tell siri to get the fook off my phone and was reprimanded for my language.
Don’t go there, mate. On Android she is called something else. Some anonymous bot but a ruthless dictator of the internet.
Being nice and charming always brings better results, JTI.
Honey is always better than vinegar, Yvonne.
Great to see you reconnected Jack, and to reaffirm your thesis, you/we are getting old.
Which causes me to think, after an outage there are a million emails I have to wade through. So what happens for the faithfully departed? How can the Internet cope with this unrequited garbage? We could back peddle up our own longetivity.
JB 05:10pm
Geez JB , I might make a few dollars from you contacting our mate Jillian Triggs who loves making discrimination cases from the likes of this poor fellow . I wish I could play banjo like him .
Read some of your own posts first Rodent. You might get the mother of all avalanches down on your head!

Spotto Smoke!
Sorry smoke, I/m hijacking your position on the food chain. I’m due to get a steroid injection (1/4 zone) in my right shoulder area for the first time in my life, so not keen on scrolling. If I get a bit tetchy soonish I will blame that on roid rage! Anywho…..
I’ve not closely followed the American experience since Obama became POTUS, but I do recall the western media’s ,and us fence sitters, enthusiasm for the man. A lot of that was because he was/is black. That is pretty strange, but in the context of US history, symbolic. Maybe one day their will be a Christian female leader of an Arab nation?? Or an Australian PM who is allowed to honestly, stringently reflect the ethos of their party (I include both). But moving on, despite the good will, what has Obama achieved? I’m sure for many people will say lots. But did these people need Obama to improve their lot, or pave the way for them to live better lives? Did he help the lse’s move up the food chain? On foreign affairs, has the neverending story that is the ME improved (not that I think that is USA’s job). Have the Russian’s and Chinese proved the lie of American dominance, and flexed their muscles under Obama’s 6 yr tenure? And on internal matters, black/white issues have long been part of the US environment. My sketchy knowledge goes back to the 50/60’s and Watts and few other matters. Both versions of US politics persuasions presided over racial divide, but I can’t recall witnessing (so to speak) the multitude of ongoing, malign and divisive conflagrations that have gone on under Obama’s administration. I think it is a bit rich for peoples to accuse Trump of divisiveness/racism etc when under Obama the most enduring phrase is “Black Lives Matter”.
ps. Unmade – not sure if you mentioned the White Australia policy, but if you did the Unions were big fans of that. And I had to laugh at your comment bout aussies being intolerant. I mean hello! I bet you’re even lactose intolerant!?
Milton. Your white is right mindset is disgusting. The white Australia policy was never right. Regardless of who enacted it or supported it. It is and was disgraceful. As you are. You are clearly a racist. You many attempts to hide your racism are as transparent as your misogyny from the couple of blogs ago. Get your new volleys on and move along.
Do you stutter Smoke????
Leave Clancy out of this JB! You are obviously horsing around again.
