Hunters and collectives

It is fair to say the Right has been feeling the ideological pinch lately. While the fussing and feuding has been going on, the Hard Left in Australia continues its moral decay at an impressive clip with hardly a mention.

Take the animal liberationist group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. Usually PETA spends the bulk of its energy and time routinely supplying the ABC’s Four Corners with free footage, allowing the current affairs program to work within its budget. It’s a win-win, provided you’re a card-carrying member of PETA or a journo with an insatiable thirst for a gold Walkley.

Yesterday it surfaced PETA had written to the management of Hunters and Collectors urging the band to change its name to something less violent and antagonistic. The thought being the band, first formed in 1981, might now be inadvertently encouraging young kiddies to load up the shotties, the pig dogs and several cartons of Emu Bitter and go out blasting away at ecosystems various in a frivolous manner.

Wet day here in the Highlands. Nothing for it but to settle in and watch the second Test in Bangalore. Kohli has won the toss. India will bat on a wicket that might offer the quivks a bit early.

Yes, I know , sometimes I fall off the wagon and let fly with a few. However, in my own defence it’s usually after weeks of antagonism from idiots with few brain cells that won’t let the truth, or facts get in the way of their crusades. Like the whole SA power thing. If you didn’t see that blast coming from me, must be blind and stupid!
    .
Still, I doubt even you would say that I contribute nothing with my posts in general. Even if it is just the bloody truth. Did the post from rupert really add what we need around here. No. And as it was unprovoked rudeness from a nobody to one of our own…….

    Cheers carl

Cheers to you Wraith, no malevolence intended.

But despite not having the afflictions you indicated, I doubt you’re suggesting I should bite my tongue. You may rest assured I always peruse you thought-provoking posts with interest.

      Nil desperandum carborundum.

      All the best Wraith

Considering Left Renewal is so far to the left that on their emergence they described the Green Leadership (those capitalist running dogs of Wall Street, Richard Di Natale, Scott Ludlam and Larissa Waters) as being on the “right” of the party, how far to the left of them are Dexter Duckett and Vanamali Hermans to describe Left Renewal as a hegemony designed to support the status quo?

I mean, are they still within the visual range of the Hubble Space Telescope, or is it going to require breakthroughs in a whole new area of physics to detect which alternate universe they inhabit?

    • Boadicea says:

I thought at the time that Godwin Grech was a pearler of a name for a political hoo ha – but heavens, Dexter Duckett and Vanamali Hermans – how delicious!

    • Dwight says:

There’s that spot on the political spectrum where the fanatics on the left are indistinguishable from the fanatics on the right. The only difference practically is the color of their uniforms and the song they sing while marching.

Look out, the young greens are having a conference called Save the Date. Huh?

Meanwhile over in Chicago USA we read, Mr Insider, that PETA has informed the Pittsburgh Penguins that they’re skating on thin ice after the NHL toted out actual penguins to appear at a game Saturday. PETA is everywhere it seems! What about the zillions of Chickens that KFC “process” daily PETA mmmmm

I wonder when a warrant is going to be issued for the arrest of Clive Mensinck – before he manages to get himself to somewhere with no extradition rights with Australia. Palmer playing games with Australia yet again.

  • Rhys Needham says:

Not anywhere near as amusing as the time PETA actually requested Judas Priest amend the name of one of their albums from Hell Bent for Leather to the comical Hell Bent for Pleather – http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/judas-priest-targeted-by-peta-over-hell-bent-for-leather/.

I assume it’s also the time to remind everyone that PETA themselves aren’t the most ethical organisation on the planet themselves in terms of euthanasing most of the animals that end up in their shelters, their general crankery, and their record on women’s rights possibly isn’t the best either (not that I generally object myself to scantily-clad or nude female celebrities and other female supporters being used in advertising, but I don’t really know if they send the best message out to the generally younger females who would be more inclined to support such an organisation on ethical grounds).

Jean Baptiste . Je suis la!

This lickspittle attempt to denegrate those who fight for the worker is the praxis of the main stream media. A media who is more than compliant in the oppression of the worker, but is the blunt instrument with which the cabal of capitalist elites bludgeons the worker into submission. Australias media is a dichotomy of soft left neophytes and the rancid spawn of the priveledged classes who call themselves the right. I ask you comrade is it right that a so called free media rant from their towers of shame filling the heads of the mediocre with the table scrapings of the rich? We should not stand by and let those two warriors be now cast from the Greens without reminding all, who eke out their existence in slavery, that the day will come when the worker will rise and defecate upon the shrine of capitalism. Rip the mouths of the oppressed from the flabby teats of the bankers and show them that the milk of greed is sour whilst the ideology of the workers state is ambrosia!

    Vive l’idee’. Vive la revolution!

    • Trivalve says:

Ahem “A media which is more than compliant”. Or, possibly “A media who are more than compliant”

    • Wraith says:

Wow. That’s a tonne load of verbal nothing. Did you just tunnel under the wall rupert? How did you get in? Doesn’t matter, just to let you know, don’t waste your time with me , you are already on my “too dumb to talk to” list.

    • Jean Baptiste says:

Exquisite! Sadly it will not come to pass. The workers have swallowed their chains, softened by their daily beer and circuses. Brains so addled by the moguls media they cannot even see AGW coming towards them like a juggernaut.
The working class can kiss my arse, they cannot listen, they do not know how, and boy are they going to get it up the arse one last time from the bankers. Prepare thee for the final season and the Grand Finale, absolutely no repeat performances.

    • Milton says:

Defecating upon a shrine? – cor blimey, that’s a bit rough, Rupert. Nearly put me off me ploughman’s lunch.

    • Milton says:

“…the day will come when the worker will rise and defecate upon the shrine of capitalism.”

On reflection it is not wise to stand whence defecating. Smarter to squat.

      • Jean Baptiste says:

It’s a metaphor Milton. It’s not to be taken literally as much as that vision appeals to you.

“….. the day will come when the worker will squat and defecate upon the shrine of capitalism?”
The idea is good and the method efficient but it just doesn’t have the same inspiring ring to it.

        • Milton says:

It’s still the same ring, Jean just in a different location, but have it your way. Personally i’d be more inspired if my workers were working their rings off using good and efficient methods. Better for profits, you see.
That’s the problem with you socialists, it’s all symbolism, no substance.

  • Bella says:

I’m not a member of PETA, but if they supply Four Corners with free footage of ongoing, obviously brutal animal abuse then I’d say that national exposure is warranted & can be a necessary game changer.
If it helps the ABC, who’ve had the Libs slasher treatment in spades, then it’s even better.
    Regards, Bella
