Humble servant of the Nation

Politicians sucking hard in our living rooms

The week in Australian federal politics was headlined by the triumphant return of ‘Bad’ Malcolm Turnbull.

Australians had become accustomed to the pinkie-extended punctilios of Pleasant Malcolm and it has become clear they don’t much care for them.

So with nothing left to lose, Bad Malcolm got a run and delivered a withering character assessment of the Opposition leader. It was a terrific spray, no doubt, so full of harsh burns Bill Shorten may well still be plastering himself in aloe vera.

Bad Malcolm left his best line to last: “This sycophant, blowing hard in the House of Representatives, sucking hard in the living rooms of Melbourne — what a hypocrite.”

Understandably, lovers of the pugilistic arts weren’t about to get too excited. Should the People’s House ever become the House of Stoush with ‘Truffles’ Turnbull and ‘Wee Billy’ Shorten coming to blows, it would make last week’s Danny Green-Anthony Mundine fight look like the Thriller in Manilla.

    Rodent.

Ah geez Rodent mon cher frere, I have some terrible news. Your results ; yes deeply concerned I took the liberty of sending examples of your work to a highly respected physician friend of mine; indicate that you are in the late stages of pernicious acyrologia with a hopeless prognosis. “parishoners macaroni with hopples frog doses” , might explain it better to you dear fellow?
He actually said , “The poor blokes ratsh*t JB, clearly he’s already been reduced a star craving mad climate denier.”
Shocking bedside manner I agree , but there you have it dear Rodent. You’re not going to get better.

      It is indeed JS.

There are pockets of Homo Sapiens around the globe who still have quite a lot of evolution to undergo before they can be considered to be at all ‘civilised’.

Whenever I see such images I’m reminded of the fact that before the more “enlightened” among us point the finger too sanctimoniously at today’s gruesome actions, we should bear in mind that it wasn’t all that long ago that the so-called Christian inquisition was undertaking similar acts of barbarism.

I hasten to add JS that I’m not suggesting you’re pointing any fingers.

      • JackSprat says:

I think we might have learned something in the last 200 years Carl – some have not.

Trying to justify actions like this by comparing them with equally gruesome actions of hundreds ( and maybe only 70) years is taking cultural relativism to the extreme and quite erroneous.

There should be more videos like this and enormous pressure from the rest of the world should be bought to bear on the countries concerned.

I do not mind being accused of finger pointing – the left wing academic loonies sure as hell do not as it does not fit their sick idyllic view of the world where the west is the cause of all evil.

    B’Man,

Best I can do with reasonably current data. But please note caveats re differences between Income & Profit:

Politicians gold passes is back in the news again will have a significant impacts in the Canberra rorting arena .This among concerned voters , is now explosive after poodle Pyne and Albo on radio not keen to talk it up.
The other matter that P Hanson is hammering, is the Australian Post rort of CEO on 5.6 Million per year not counting the extras that in the end could mount him a 24 million pay packet with super added into stock exchange advances long term. The severity of the strain on political rorts by the public , is growing remarkably saying all these rorts could pay for the NDIS much over due. No point these major parties having this” repulsive obsession” slagging off at each other while the public sees NDIS should be thrashed out and passed . Lets hope sanity prevails with some form of initiatives are met to prove they have some form of maturity after sadly missing in Canberra over time .

I am still gulping for air Mr Insider after reading the attached article from which I briefly quote: “SCIENTISTS have discovered a colossal pool of molten carbon stretching 1.8million square kilometres under the United States. The grim find is a warning to humanity that the planet could easily spark climate chaos without the help of humans”
Not having any Scientific qualifications myself I am shocked and wonder what any esteemed Scientific person on your august blog makes of this!

Crikey “Enery, that wasn’t there last week.
Relax old feller, it’s 350 K’s down and could be an issue in a billion years or so. Much better odds of being fried by a meteorite.
However Henry, where there be carbon and pressure, there be diamonds. Send me a cheque for $10K and I’ll get you fixed up with 10 thousand shares in “Baptistes Sub Tectonic Diamond Exploration NL.” Be quick I’m taking calls from excited investors as I type this.

      • Henry Blofeld says:

Your calming and informative reply has put my mind at ease Mr Baptiste. Also the fact its in the USA and am sure POTUS Trump is already across this potential disaster and may seek to have the seething Carbon mass plugged, or at least a Wall around it. Cheers knowledgeable good buddy.

  • BASSMAN says:

Labor never had a carbon tax says Credlin

    https://thewest.com.au/politics/carbon-tax-just-brutal-politics-credlin-ng-s-1674127

When Gillard said during the election campaign there would be no carbon tax, she didn’t intend to mislead people. It was fault of the Greens and Independents. Had the Parliament NOT been hung, Labor would have moved straight to an emissions trading scheme which would not have constituted a broken promise.

    • Razor says:

Great ammunition to use against her though Bassy.

      • BASSMAN says:

        Its old news though

      • Razor says:

I see everyone now admits the NDIS was unfunded. Xen wants a rise in the Medicare levy. Thanks Julia the gift that keeps giving.

        • Dismayed says:

HAHAHAHAHA. check the 2012/13 Budget. fully funded until Morrison started shifting money around. The right wing cons are not everyone. Continually using misinformation does not change facts. See Credlin’s comments above. It applies to all cons fear campaigns.

          • Razor says:

The sneaky little Labor trick of moving the casts past the forward estimates and counting two lots of savings twice didn’t help.

          • Jack says:

I wish you were our banker, and I could tell you something was fully funded because we stuck a couple of line items in five year projections, and you would accept it.

Not so flash for the bank shareholders I suppose

        • BASSMAN says:

It was funded-carbon tax, raiding medicare levy, mining tax-iron or is raging now, the $50billion the Looters wanna waste on big business.

          • Dismayed says:

B’man don’t forget the tobacco excise.

          • Carl on the Coast says:

Bassman says: “Had the Parliament NOT been hung, Labor would have “…….. yeah, yeah, yeah, coulda, shoulda, woulda, etc. Irrelevant Bassy.

Had your uncle NOT been hung there’s every liklihood he’d be your auntie.

    • Dismayed says:

Politics over the national interest by the cons. No surprises.

    • Robin says:

Remember what I said about false news in the loony tune press bassy

      • BASSMAN says:

er How do you KNOW it is fake news?

      • John O'Hagan says:

It’s the New Yorker! You might not like its attitude, but there’s nothing fake about it. You’re wearing out the term, save it for stopthesethings.com.

        • Robin says:

Love you people who believe in everything that supports your positions and scream blue murder at everything that opposes it. The internet has made it easy for an utter nutter to make up completely false news and because it is published lazy journalists republish it.
The publishing of propaganda has been the favourite sport of politicians for millennia. Ever since newspapers have been printed facts have been manipulated to suite the opinions they want to put forward.
Major wars have been fought because of paranoia stirred by false reports. All news reports must be put through a bullshit filter before being accepted as fact.
Just ask yourself have you been involved in an incident that was reported in the news that was in anyway reported as you experienced it.

        • Jack says:

I can recall a pre election New Yorker, i am a fan of the writing, if not always the ideas, where every cartoon was anti trump.

I can see some possible problems with trump, but I thought a bit odd.

    • Henry Blofeld says:

Fake news dear BASSMAN , the US is going gangbusters under the super positive POTUS Trump. Don’t you believe anything from that “Fake News” rag buddy! Donald wont be taking any more questions from the New Yorker! Imagine if dowdy old Hillary had become POTUS, the USA would be asleep by now. Trump is the breath of fresh air the USA and the World needs.

  • Dismayed says:

Am I still here? Someone mentioned Police stats. these 2 links highlight the media hysteria is not helping. Crime rates trending down and “ice” heads a very small % of people.

    • Robin says:

Loony tune news dismal. Statistics are found to be lies after a while especially when cops don’t report crimes

    • Razor says:

The victimisation survey is a random sample the figures quoted by the minister are the statistics relied on by government, political parties and the like. They are comparing apples with oranges.

As for the Ice link more people are using crystal meth. It’s semantics as to whether there is an epidemic or not. How does one quantify an epidemic? The media love the term that’s for sure!

    • Bella says:

      Yes you’re still here mate.
I know you “respond in kind” but you’re clearly, relentlessly goaded now so listen to wraith’s advice, just scroll past those who can’t appreciate your input or counter argument.
Put things in perspective & stick around. Please don’t go worrying that people don’t like you because most people struggle to even like themselves. Took me a very long while to realise that.
      My best, Bella

      • Dismayed says:

Cheers Bella. The cons have been trying to get rid of me since the inception of the blog. Dissenting views are not acceptable to them and worse if you actually stand up for yourself somehow you are victimising them? When you provide evidence they refuse to acknowledge it and attack you personally. Unhinged cons who refuse to take responsibility for their failings is what keeps me Dismayed. I know I let myself down by lowering myself to their level. Thank you to all those for the advice you have offered. Take care.

        • Razor says:

          I’m going to vomit……

          • Jolly Angelina says:

We, oops – I mean I, can help you there Mr Razor. I have 7 children – or is it 8? – heck, I can’t remember. I’ll have to do a count on that and confirm the latest tally.
But anyway, we, I mean I, have got lots of vomit buckets on hand. You know how it is with kids….. even Brad. Oh dear, that’s right, he’s gone – so we have his too.
Just shout if you need any.

          • Jean Baptiste says:

Put a chalk mark on yourself first.

  • Razor says:

    Penny,
What is the Malay press saying about this mornings assassination? Where does Malaysia generally sit in the whole US / Nth Korea / China / Japan world of geo politics?

    • Penny says:

Razor, it was the Malay press who first picked up who the victim was. The story is a little hazy, but it seems that he was attacked by two ladies from behind who sprayed something in his face, then ran downstairs and jumped into a taxi.
Malaysia has a lot of problems at the moment internationally and the PM (into whose bank accounts the missing RM2.6 billion seems to have been placed) is relying heavily on Chinese investment to bail the country out.
Before alll this though the Malaysian economy was thriving, but Japan and the US are backing away from the country due to the economic scandal engulfing the government. As for North Korea, who knows, but corruption breeds corruption and it would not surprise me in the slightest if someone in government knew what was going to go down. I think the search for the missing ladies and the taxi driver will come to nothing
