A political schism once begun cannot be stopped. It develops a force of its own and moves in ways that cannot be controlled. The consequences can only be appreciated after the fires have been extinguished.
Scott Morrison will be sworn in as the 30th Prime Minister of Australia. The fight is not over. In many ways, it has only just begun. He won the spill 45 votes to Dutton’s 40. Julie Bishop was knocked out in the first round of voting. Morrison’s deputy is Josh Frydenberg.
Malcolm Turnbull’s delaying tactics allowed Morrison to assemble the numbers. He almost certainly did not have them yesterday.
n the comings days, expect the words “healing”, “repair”, “revival” and “restoration” to be vomited out of a thesaurus by senior Liberal figures. These words will be a nonsense, yet another damning exercise in the party’s obsession with introspection.
Full column here.
I take it we’re movin’ on.
Fingers crossed that when the new one comes up the hiccups have disappeared.
This “Liberal Party” might have to be broken up by the Police, Mr. Insider. They are certainly disturbing the “neighbors” with revelation after revelation of alleged misdoings. The “noise” is becoming deafening.
Strewth there goes the “neighborhood”!
Tony Abbott says being a former PM would bring “authority” to his new role of improving the lives of indigenous Australians.
………………just gets worse with each passing day.
When too much fun is barely enough.
With Julia banks announcing she will not contest the election, essentially saying she has had enough of the nonsense, we can probably put money on Chisholm returning to Labor.
My punter’s guide to the next federal election tips just that. It’s up now.

I see Julia Banks is to quit parliament over the axing of Malcolm Turnbull. Yeah well she was going to be toast anyway.
I wonder if she will apologise now for that ridiculous line about being able to live on NewStart.
I won’t be holding my breath.

As a title I’m not sure how special envoy rates against prime minister? Still, Abbott is pretty special.
So are you mate
hehe
So Tony doesn’t expect extra pay for doing…..what?
Meanwhile the Labor candidate for Warringah is out and about, fund raising and getting himself known.
Think someone is taking this neck of the woods for granted.
Yes, very magnanimous of the Member for Warringah to accept the opportunity offered by the PM. But then again, he’s simply acting out his natural instinct to genuinely provide assistance, aid and support to those in need. A stark contrast indeed, to the disingenuous chap who recently spat the dummy.
He didn’t spit the dummy Carl. He got ousted by a couple of nitwits who can’t even count and have made one hell of a mess of it. No-one could blame him for saying ”over to you fella’s” and getting the hell out. Which he did – with dignity So frantic were they to try and get those numbers that they started coercing reluctant MP’s to sign a bit of paper – which has now translated to bullying . I agree with Phil Coorey (? spelling) – it wasn’t bullying – it was desperation to muster numbers. Julia Banks stated that she was quitting because she’s a Malcolm supporter.
This would have been more timely during the World Cup.
