Humble servant of the Nation

Malcolm Turnbull: the Wile E. Coyote of Australian politics

As we sit and wait for news of the fate of the seven dual citizens as they traipse from their parliamentary offices with the woebegone air of condemned men and women to the High Court this afternoon, it is worth reflecting on the sort of week the government has already had.

There is a prescient sense of deja vu about it. The Turnbull government often has good Tuesday afternoons but come the weekend, the control of the agenda has been lost, a scandal has emerged, or infighting on the backbenches has turned into a donnybrook. The familiar theme is, in any one week of the Turnbull government, one step forward and three back.

Indeed it has happened so often the thought occurs that possibly Malcolm Turnbull isn’t very good at being prime minister.

Could the last wog leaving parliament please turn off the lights.

  • Henry Blofeld says:

So, Mr Insider, this weak reed of a PM Turnbull doesn’t want a Citizenship Audit because it may strip away his hopeless Governments hold on power, given other ” foreigners” will surely be found. The fact that about 7 or 8 so far have had to resign he doesn’t consider that to be a concern as long as he stays PM. I think we know what to do my fellow Australians when a Federal Election arrives and that is to say goodbye to this failed government and its rancid leader. 22 consecutive negative Newspolls cant be wrong Malcolm!

Tee hee – that fountain of wisdom, Dismayed, has declared that he has decided I am a misandrist!
    That’s really funny.
But at least I can be certain of not finding him in the Business Class lounge – let alone a Business Class seat.
Because, true as bob, if I had to sit next to the likes of Dismayed on a long haul flight I would definitely emerge at the other end as a misandrist!!
    Get a hobby Dismayed

    • Dismayed says:

Yvonne, almost right for the first time but I would hardly consider myself the fountain of all wisdom. I continue to learn every day. Anyone who prefers a chair over another human must be some sort of hater. Do you really think you are the only person to fly Business class? Get a grip, you have told us about it at every opportunity it must have been a one off. Having worked mostly internationally since the mid 1990’s most of my flights have been business class and I have been using the various lounges for decades. You would not even know if you had sat next to the “likes” of me. Just like CWA Annie (whatever happened to her? ) would not have known she was serving us when she was working as a stewardess Oh my hobby is cons open their eyes it’s what keeps me Dismayed.

      • Boadicea says:

Annie – that was her blog name – not your childish CWAnnie – was hounded off this blog. She was insulted on a regular basis when she gave her opinion. Remember?
My blog name is Boadicea. Use it, or just don’t comment on my posts.
My misandry applies uniquely to you – big time.

        • Penny says:

Annie wasn’t hounded off this blog Boa, she appears regularly on the other side under another name. She gave as good as she got, some of her tales were outrageous and if she really did do as much as she claimed to have done she would have to be about 150 years old.
People don’t get hounded off this blog they just leave when they’ve had enough.
In the early days of this blog, I had several people gunning for me, (trust me things are mild compared to what it used to be like) but I never took it too seriously. If I did it would be time to take myself off to greener pastures.

          What does misandry mean?

    If Kevin Andrews was PM…………

    On what planet?

The guys the most deluded current MP, and that’s a big call when you consider the likes of Eric Abetz and Peter Dutton.

  • BASSMAN says:

I just love the way Turnbull keeps saying we must listen and adopt the recommendations of his ‘expert’ energy panel which came up with his new hair brained scheme. Hmm….the Looters took no notice of the Expert Refugee Panel led by Paris Aristotle, Angus Houston and Michael L’Estrange in 2013 and look where we are now with the rapes murders deaths and self-harm on Manus and Nauru. Then there are the mental scars that will never heal. The Looters have owned this for 4yrs. Dutton can blame Labor no longer especially when Rudd’s agreement with PNG was for only 12 months.

  • Dismayed says:

This corrupt government continues to mislead the nation using price assumptions 30% to 40% above actual cost for renewables. Absolute disgrace. They should all be sacked. This is ongoing corruption by the Federal government agencies doing this.

Australia, it’s like taking lollies from babies.

      Give ’em heaps.

    • Dismayed says:

Fox (Sky) tried to but he chewed up the young bloke and spat him out and made him look silly. I think the footage is on Westy’s page. Thank goodness Australia has journalist like Michael West.

  • JackSprat says:

    On the citizenship fiasco.

If the electoral commission did an audit of all candidates and found a candidate that was invalid and that candidate’s references resulted in a being elected – where does it go from there.

  • Milton says:

I’ve only managed to see ads from the labor side thus far in the qld coming election and boy howdy are they of the “ACME Build yourself a Political Ad in 3 easy steps” range.
Perhaps this type of ad is from the if it ain’t broke don’t fix it school.

Razor says:November 1, 2017 at 4:24 pm. You have never disproved anything I have put forward. I have never been connected or affiliated with any political organisation. The reason I seem to be “on message” as your paranoia put it is because your coalition are hopeless and deliberately mislead the Nation and it is very easy to find REAL data and research to disprove their deceitful misinformation. You seem to have one source of information, your preferred media outlet. I read it then go and find other sources looking for facts rather than the misinformation bias and ideology that comes from your preferred media outlet.
