IF you’re like me, you’re sick to death of the Barnaby Joyce story already and it has only been out there for little more than a day.

And oh, how the Op-Eds rolled out, like a torrent spewed out by the terabyte.

What we might kindly call the new media babbled on about conspiracies between the press gallery and the parliament. Democracy denied was the collective shriek, as if the readers of these inner-city websites were exclusively the denizens of New England.

Joyce won New England with a 7 per cent swing and if an election was held in his seat tomorrow my best guess is he would win by a similar margin.

Even during the campaign Twitter knew. I knew and I didn’t care. Indeed, during the New England by-election campaign, mainstream media reported Joyce was no longer living at the family home. Any journalist worth his or her salt could have chased the story down.

Lots of singing and dancing in the stands at the Olympics.
Good way to avoid being frozen solid – and heaps of fun! 😁
Beautiful footage of light snow falling

  • Boadicea says:

Apparently Matthias Corman will be stand-in PM next week if it’s not Joyce.

  • Dismayed says:

Former LNP MP Matt McEachan has been exposed for running a propaganda site posting blatantly false and misleading information about Energy in Australia. no doubt razor supports the lies and false information being spread. All that coal and QLD cant keep the lights on. Nobody ever said they were bright up there. No surprises.

    • Carl on the Coast says:

He’s probably been using some of the stuff you post on here from time to time Dismayed.

    • Razor says:

We don’t rely on an interconnector because we can generate our own baseload power so when a storm hits the whole state doesn’t go out. SA can’t do that without burning diesel…….and that nearly didn’t save them recently.

    • Razor says:

Matt’s is probably similar to the rent seeker sights you constantly cut and paste from.

The Edward VIII moment cannot be far off now, methinks.

Good Lord, I managed to watch an entire Q&A last night, not sure whether mix of guests was better, or perhaps it was Terri Butler flirting with Chris Kenny, or Van Badham and even John Hewson being very nearly right about something.

who knows, but it was better.

If Barnaby is to go are we happy for him to be replaced by George Christensen?

Henry Blofeld – in case you missed it you may be interested to watch Catalyst tonight, titled “Back to the Moon”. Does the title strike you as odd, old bean?

    • Boadicea says:

Watched Catalyst and got all confused, Milt. Because they all seemed convinced that those blokes really did land on the moon! Even still have the slide rule on which all calculations were made. Now that was impressive! And a 4-bit board – whereas nowadays a smartphone has 1 million bits! Yikes. Bit too technical for me there.

    • BASSMAN says:

How is George’s stomach bypass going…has he lost any?

    • Henry Blofeld says:

Thanks dear Milton, yes “Back To The Moon” means to me what it says but sadly to some “featherheads” who missed the entire Apollo Program right up to No 17 nothing will suffice as solid evidence. Cheers P.S. I remain willing and able to be on NASA’s or SpaceX’s next flight to the Moon1

      • Milton says:

I’ll miss you buddy but try and find time to text us. A coupla selfies will be way cool, dude. Some moon rock for the black market wouldn’t go astray either. Even old mate’s commie Russian comrades have brought back some of that stuff!
ps. on the plus side, old featherhead seems to be well looked after and with ample playtime on the internet. Funny, that made me think of that ASSange chap, hehe.

      • Jean Baptiste says:

Answer the question air head. When are they going back to the moon?
First rocket motor landing right side up happened in the 90’s. That’s how much computer power it takes and lots of directional thrusters. Except in the movies.
Nobody has been crazy enough to be in one yet. If Elon can get his success rate up from 66% , someone might sit in one. Good “first” for Henry. They’ll be looking for a lightweight.

  • Henry Blofeld says:

“Hey Big Taxpayers Dollar Spender”, Mr Insider, as we read Barnaby Joyce helping himself to a liberal serving of Taxpayer Dollars with gay abandon. Come on big boy your cover is blown you are now a laughing stock, fall on your sword, its been a long journey between Maverick and Idiot but by jingo’s Barnaby you made it!

    • Milton says:

      surely not “gay abandon”, Henry??!!

and whilst i’m on matters, Barnaby Joyce, I don’t think his problem is down to hypocrisy, for mine it is stupidity, sheer and simple.
and consider this, the Jesuit’s are noted educators. Robert Hughes, the art critic, historian as an fine exemplar. Yet for all the money spent on the Jesuit education, consider the lump sum payout as B. Joyce, or B Shorten. On the plus side there is the only intellectual, and fire fighter, and life guard, and so much more in the parliament, who benefitted from the Jesuit school, and that is Tony Abbott.

The coalition are again trying to delay payments when people sign up for unemployment payments. New data shows the “job network” system is failing with less than 40% of people employed after 3 months. Under employment is at record highs and has been for the last 4 years.Immigration is running at Record highs. Jobs last year only just met the number of people who immigrated to Australia. Today we see Barnaby’s bit on the side is still being paid by the Taxpayer. After being on “stress” leave for 5 months she then receives another 8 weeks pay once she finished up, apparently all “staffers” do. But the person on the street who is already doing it the toughest is demonised as a bludger and shamed by the government routinely in the media. Penalty rates were removed peoples hours have been reduced. this coalition government is the most corrupt dishonest government this nation has ever seen.
